Search logs
Every serial number lookup is logged on the server: the brand, the number searched, the result, and an irreversibly hashed (HMAC-SHA256) version of your IP address and browser string — the archive cannot reverse them to an address. Logs are kept for 90 days and are used for one purpose: to see which makers and periods people search for, so coverage grows where it is actually needed.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and page views, which involves standard analytics cookies. You can block it with any ad blocker or browser setting; the site works fully without it.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no newsletters, no passwords.
- No advertising cookies, no data sold or shared with brokers.
- No profiling — a lookup is answered and forgotten.
